Vest - Value Village/ Dress - Old Navy/ Booties - Sears

There is nothing I miss more in the winter than my bright colours and spring dresses. I always find it hard to figure out what to wear in the winter. The weather is so unpredictable, it will be cold and pouring one moment and then it will be sunny and warm the next, and you always have to make sure your shoes will survive the wet ground and rain. Luckily over the years I have managed to figure out how to take the bright colours from the spring and summer and transition them into the winter months.

As you have probably noticed, one of my go to ways to extend the life of your summer clothing is to layer a vest on top of dresses. Not only does it add an extra layer of warmth (which is totally needed for the damp cold), it also brings some visual interest to the outfit. One of my go to vest is this black faux fur one. I snagged it during a Value Village 50% off sale several years ago. My next go to is usually a pair of black boots. I find choosing dark colours help to ground the bright print.

Hope everyone is having a stellar weekend,

Jade
